Welcome! Jacquisine is back---sort of. I’m Jacquie, whom many of you will remember from my years of running my Champions-area restaurant, Jacquisine. I see many of you around the neighborhood, and I’m happy to say that Jacquisine is still remembered fondly.
I still want to feed you, but a restaurant like I had before just isn’t in the cards. I’ve spent most of the last few years involved in the world of farmers markets and local agriculture, and I’m all fired up about helping people to eat better. By “better”, I mean more delicious (mostly) local vegetables. And by “people,” I mean you.
You may have found this website by seeing the sign outside the old Jacquisine location. While the building is for lease, I was able to work out a deal to hang my shingle out and see where it leads us. I can cook, I can teach, I can demonstrate, I can consult. I’ve gone into a bit more detail in the “how I can help you” page, but basically I’m hoping you’ll hire me. I’m available for casual, one-time-only gigs but also for more sustained efforts. Would you like to have me be your personal chef? I can come to your house once a week and fill your fridge with ready-to-heat-or-eat soups, salads, and entrees. Would you like to come with me to the farmers market and get personalized guidance? You can buy whatever strikes your fancy and I’ll help you create a plan to turn it in to amazing meals. Would you like to have a talk or a demonstration for your group? I can hold forth on many subjects, from cool kitchen tips to the state of the local food scene in Houston. Want to throw a party? I can come cook for you and your friends.
I’m open to all of that and more. Maybe you have a need that I haven’t imagined—but perhaps I can help. I hope to hear from you today. Let's see what we can do to help you eat better, healthier, and tastier.
